Where did you get this pet?

My father-in-law passed away suddenly, and my husband and I are in care of Taco and his sister Audi – they were originally chipped by Animal Aid for Vermillion and adopted from 911 dog rescue which is no longer in operation

Things pet likes:

Taco loves to play tug but most importantly is a lap dog. He wants to snuggle and get belly and head rubs ALL the time. He’s high energy and despite not having any training/direction is quick to learn and very smart. He’s also extremely food motivated and will sit if he even *thinks* you have a treat. He’s doing better on a leash despite mostly free roaming with no recall. He does occasionally try to play tug with the leash but working on training that. I think he could be easily trained as I’ve already gotten him to pay attention to me in situations of high energy.

Kind of home pet needs

right now, a farm or country home would be best/easiest – however if there were someone motivated to train or experienced with bigger breeds, he could adapt to any environment. Gets along with Audi (see separate post) but they do not need to be rehomed together.
