Emergency Vet Care resources: OAHS can only provide veterinary care for animals that are considered our legal property.

For emergencies, please contact your current veterinarian. The closest 24-hour emergency clinic is BluePearl Pet Hospital at 4706 New Horizons Blvd, Appleton, WI 54914 – phone # (920) 993-9193

Emergency Vet Care Funding: GoFundMe – Crowdfunding for Pet Expenses; Waggle – Crowdfunding for Pet Medical Expenses with donations sent directly to your pet’s healthcare provider; CareCredit – A healthcare credit card designed to assist with pet healthcare and emergency visits.  No interest charged if paid in full by end of promo period; WisCares – Community Clinic for Low-Income and Homeless Families. For more options click HERE

Spay/Neuter – the following are resources for low-cost spay/neuter.  Please check each organization’s website for the most recent information regarding available services.

Bite Quarantine: Did your pet bite another person and a quarantine order was issued? Click HERE for Wisconsin bite quarantine laws.  OAHS is not able to provide bite quarantine services to the general public. Please check with the municipality issuing the quarantine order for your animal with any questions specific to your situation. We do suggest contacting your established veterinarian if a bite quarantine is issued for your pet. The Fox Valley Humane Association in Appleton, WI provides bite quarantine services for pet owners in our area. Please contact them for more information.

Boarding:  OAHS is not able to provide temporary boarding for owned pets.  If you are experiencing a medical issue or housing issue making it impossible for you to care for your pet for a lengthy period we suggest reaching out to family or friends to see if they would be willing to assist.
