We love our adopters! Please stop by the shelter, located at 1925 Shelter Court in Oshkosh, to meet our adorable, adoptable cats, kittens, bunnies, guinea pigs and other small animals during our open hours!

In order to provide the best service we can, and with respect to our limited staffing and space, we’re asking people to please only plan to stop in if you are truly interested in adopting. Those who want to spend time with animals for fun or to socialize with them are encouraged to join our volunteer program.

*We currently require appointments to meet the dogs to ensure you get to spend the time you need with the dog and an adoption counselor. This makes it much less stressful on the dogs in our care, and allows you the time to get to know the dog you are interested in, in a private meet and greet room with an adoption counselor. 

This time will also give you a sense of the dog’s true personality and allows time for our staff to give you a full background and answer all your questions about the dog, to ensure it will be a good long-term match for both the dog and you/your family.

Adoptions at OAHS are not based on first-come-first-adopted but are based on matchmaking so it’s a win-win for everyone.
