Things pet likes:

Loves going on walks/ being outside, very food/ treat oriented (loves kongs & rawhide bones), playing fetch, loves snuggling on the couch, taking sun naps, just being with his people

Things pet doesn’t like:

Not a fan of loud noises/ fireworks, being locked in a kennel, unannounced strangers, baths & nail trims (will need someone experienced)

Please describe how your pet reacts around strangers

Jordy is a very vocal guy, so will bark around strangers, but is overall friendly. Once he sniffs you, he calms down

Positive qualities pet has:

Jordy is a very loving dog & thrives off of positive interactions and affection. He is very smart (but a hound, so stubborn). He’s very friendly with dogs and people. Knows a few tricks (sit, shake, down, spin, speak).
He is house trained, very minimal accidents over the years.

Reason for rehoming pet

Jordy has not acclimated to our new family dynamic since bringing our son home (almost 2 years ago). He is not meant to be in a home with small children who don’t understand/ respect his personal space.
Jordy has gotten more vocal (growling) with our son as he grows and explores more. Jordy has also started stealing food from our son’s hands, so worried about an eventual bite situation.

Kind of home pet needs

Jordy would do best in a home with no small children, or children old enough to know to respect his space (at least 13-15 years old).
He needs a nice yard to run around in. He is a vocal hound, so apartment living would not be a good fit for him.
He is such a good dog and just wants to be with his people, so long hours away at work, etc is not ideal. He loves other dogs, and is a true “pack” animal.

I would still love to remain a part of Jordy’s life, and possibly get together for play dates.
If for some reason Jordy doesn’t fit in/ acclimate to his new home, I would want him to come back and live with me until he finds his perfect fit (no shelter stays).
