Things pet likes: | Chew toys, walks (does not walk well on leash, however), treats, and cuddling. |
Things pet doesn’t like: | Carl is not a fan of being in the car but will lay down once you get him in and get going. He fixates on cats. While he has never hurt ours, he will chase him, corner him, and bark incessantly. He has not had a lot of exposure to other dogs. He does not like shoes, socks, or underwear and will chew them up if given the chance. |
Positive qualities pet has: | Carl is house trained, and crate trained. He is very smart, extremely active, and loves his people. He is very treat motivated. He is up to date on vet care and vaccinations. He is also neutered. |
Reason for rehoming pet | Carl is a young hound and needs more activity and space than we can provide. He really needs a fenced yard. We have been trying to break his habit of mouthing people. It is not done in an aggressive manner. He needs someone who knows how to train him and keep him busy. |
Kind of home pet needs | Carl would do best in a home with older children. He really needs a fenced in yard. He is very active. Ideally, someone who would teach him to hunt would be amazing. He is not good with cats and it is unknown how he would do with other dogs. He barks at them as they walk by but stops once they are gone. He has been to the dog park a few times and had no problems interacting with other dogs for a short period. Carl really needs someone who is familiar with hounds and willing to put some time into training him. He is not a lazy-person’s dog. He is extremely smart and active. |
