Don’t Know

Things pet likes:

Bruno lives for walks and adores watching rabbits. He also loves bully sticks, playing tug of war, and chasing around the yard. He is not destructive with his toys, but he will lay on his back and hold them above his head, licking them.

Things pet doesn’t like:

Bruno doesn’t like strangers coming to the door (mail carriers, visitors, etc.), but he will calm down quickly after greeting them. He also gets very energetic when he sees other dogs on walks, but he isn’t acting aggressively. He doesn’t care for tie-outs and has tried to chew through them. He also apparently does not like fly swatters.

Positive qualities pet has:

Bruno is house trained, crate-trained, has completed basic manners training, does not resource guard, and is microchipped. Bruno also does not react to loud noises or provocations from children. We have a four-year-old who is still erratic and has tantrums, and we have had absolutely no trouble with Bruno. If he has had enough of the situation he will calmly go back to his kennel or go to another room.

Something else to note about Bruno is that he is great at moderating his energy levels to match his playmate. He knows and tones down his play for smaller children, but is willing to have rougher play with larger playmates.

Reason for rehoming pet

We adopted Bruno about 3 months ago, and he is our family’s first dog. Sadly, we have found dog ownership is not a good fit for our family and routines.

Kind of home pet needs

Bruno does well with children of all ages. I know a fenced-in yard would be appreciated, but isn’t necessary. His fur does require brushing to avoid matting. He still needs to work on his leash manners and would benefit from a patient owner who can help him master those skills.
