*Please note the majority of our dog population is composed of young, medium-to-extra-large, strong, active dogs.

Volunteer Requirements: 

• Be at least 16 years old to volunteer independently. Our Family Partnership Program allows children age 12 and up to volunteer with an adult guardian – if interested please send an e-mail of inquiry to info@oahs.org

• Be able to commit to a minimum of 3 months of service within a consecutive 6-month period

• Volunteer a minimum of 6 hours per month

• Attend a volunteer orientation and any necessary follow-up hands-on training sessions

There are many volunteer opportunities available at OAHS, whether you want to help by working hands-on with the animals, volunteering at outreach events, or even just by dropping off a donation bank at a local business!
