Volunteer Orientation Registration We ask all those interested in socializing with animals at our shelter to please sign up for the appropriate session ahead of time so we can organize needed materials. All sessions have a maximum of 10 people. Dog Walking/Socialization requires additional hands-on training after the initial orientation.
Dog Walking/Socialization Level 1: Please note the majority of our dog guests are medium to large size, strong, and active. After the initial orientation session volunteers must attend a hands-on training session to learn about dog behavior, body lanuage, harnessing, and much more.
The next dog orientation will be Saturday, December 9 at 9 am.
Click HERE to submit your volunteer application. Once your application is processed you will be receive confirmation of the class registration.
Cat Socialization Level 1:

Volunteer Requirements:
There are many volunteer opportunities available at OAHS, whether you want to help by working hands-on with the animals, volunteering at outreach events, or even just by dropping off a donation bank at a local business!
The Oshkosh Area Humane Society is a Life Saving Shelter. Every day, cats and kittens arrive at OAHS and sometimes we just don’t have enough room in our building for all of them. By providing a temporary home, you give us the support we need until we find them a loving, permanent home.
That can mean kittens too young to be adopted or an animal needing time to recover from an illness or injury. And sometimes we just need temporary homes for when our shelter is full. Learn More.
