Happy New Year!

As we start the new year, we wanted to say "Thank You" to

all our friends and supporters who made 2019 an amazing year for animals.

In 2019 OAHS served approximately 2,146 animals from the Oshkosh area and beyond. That number includes 1,305 cats, 684 dogs and many small mammals.

It was a very exciting year with OAHS taking top prize in the Cat Pawsitive High Five Contest (we are so appreciative of your daily votes!). We also added new adoption support programs like Destination Home to assist adopters of animals on medication or specialty food, and Silver Paws which supports the medical costs of preparing senior animals for adoption so they can be their healthiest! We also added our first-ever Behavioral Department Manager position, held by Cari Tetzlaff because we know maintaining mental health and using positive reinforcement methods mean more animals get the chance for their happily-ever-after. And finally, at the end of the year, we hired our first full-time staff veterinarian, Dr. Laura Beck!

It's been quite a journey to get to where we are today in the ever-changing world of animal welfare. One thing that won't change, however, is our commitment to always strive to better serve animals, and people, in our community.

Thank you to everyone who supported our lifesaving mission this past year: volunteers, adopters, donors, fosters, community businesses, area clinics and veterinarians and those who spread the word about OAHS and the work we do. We look forward to an even more amazing 2020 with all of you by our side!
