To qualify, applicant needs to have excellent customer service skills, a strong desire to help animals and people, good computer skills and a willingness to share the lifesaving values of the Oshkosh Area Humane. Hours are 17-20 hours a week and include weekdays 4pm-6pm and Saturdays 8am-3pm with some variance in the Saturday hours. Must have experience in handling and working with a variety of domestic animals. Primarily cats, dogs and rabbits.

Canine Exercise and Enrichment Staff

Do you like being outside, getting exercise and hanging out with dogs? Then this is the job for you! Dogs at OAHS are walked at least twice daily for their health and well being. Hours for the Dog Walking, part time position are 20 - 28  hours weekends and some weekends (not all).  Saturdays 7 am -11 am,  2 pm - 5 pm and Sundays 8 am - 12 pm,  2 pm -5 pm. Possibly some weekdays 8 am -12 pm,  3 pm -6 pm

  • Interested parties must like dogs and need to be comfortable working with many different kinds  of dogs
  • Applicants must be capable of working independently, pay attention to detail and work efficiently within time constraints

EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION

After-Hours On-Call Team Member- Make $40 per call Are you a night owl?  Do you want to help animals?  The Oshkosh Area Humane Society is looking for individuals who would answer calls in the Oshkosh area when the Oshkosh Police Department (OPD) requires our assistance.  The hours are from 6PM until 8AM weekdays and 3PM until 8AM on weekends (alternating days/weekends with other on-call staff). The on-call person responds to calls from OPD involving stray animals in capture, impounds, injured animals etc.  Animal handling skills are a must but new hires will receive extensive training.  Applicants must be able to lift 50 pounds. They also need good judgment and decision making skills, the ability to work independently and cautiously in a variety of situations involving animals.  On call employees are paid $40 per animal call.
