Dog Team Manager: Full-Time/Salaried Position

Job Summary:
Under the guidance of the Executive Director, ensure uniform implementation of the organization’s policies and procedures.
Represent the organization as the “face of dog adoptions” in all aspects of the position in a professional, courteous and positive manner to the public, volunteers and staff.
Work toward a successful outcome for every animal in collaboration with shelter staff and volunteers in accordance with the lifesaving mission of the organization.
Job Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of two years of experience working in a humane society/equivalent environment and ability in care and handling of animals.
Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
Experience with large (50+ pounds), active dogs required.
Must possess: Leadership skills, Decision-making skills, Commitment to the OAHS lifesaving mission, Commitment to excellent customer service and representing the organization in a positive, courteous and professional manner at all times, Ability to multi-task, Ability to effectively deal with stress and emotional situations in a calm, constructive and respectful manner.

Dog Enrichment Team Member: 9 - 24 hrs/wk Must be able to work a minimum of three shifts per week, including two weekend shifts two weekends a month (Sat/Sun) (must be at least 18 years old)
Weekday shifts (Mon - Fri) are 8 am - 12 pm and 3 pm - 6 pm
Weekend shifts are Saturday 7 am - 11 am and 2 pm - 5 pm; and Sunday 8 am - 12 pm and 2 pm - 5 pm.
Job Summary:
Dogs at OAHS are walked at least twice daily for their health and wellbeing. Interested parties must be comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, strengths and activity levels - particularly medium-to larger-size active dogs. Job tasks include walking dogs and learning how to utilize related harnesses, collars, leashes and other equipment, utilize positive-reinforcement training techniques to promote wanted dog behaviors, cleaning kennels, feeding, and other dog environment tasks as needed. Must ensure proper protocols and procedures are followed for the safety and well being of animals, staff and volunteers.
Job Requirements:
Willingness to learn about dog behavior, handling techniques and positive-reinforcement based behavior modification. (Training will be provided)
Follow all safety protocols and procedures
Experience with large (50+ pounds), active dogs required
Physical abilities: Bending, squatting, maintaining control over dogs of all sizes and strengths.
Must be capable of working independently, pay attention to detail and work efficiently within time constraints.
