Adoption fees for cats and kittens are free at this time. Licensing fees and rabies vaccination reimbursement fees may apply at the time of adoption. Donations are always appreciated to help new animals coming into OAHS, needing our assistance in finding a new home.
Cats are spayed/neutered before being adopted and are current on their vaccinations. Vaccination status may vary dependent on the age of the cat. Cats are also tested for Feline Leukemia.
Dog adoption fees range from $35-$200 depending on the breed and age of the dog. Higher adoption fees for some dogs help to supplement the adoption fees of dogs that may be overlooked by adopters because of age or breed.
Dogs are spayed/neutered before being adopted and are current on vaccinations, dependent on their age. Dogs receive a blood test to check for heartworm disease.
RABBITS & SMALL MAMMALS
The adoption fee for any small mammal or rabbit is "Name Your Own Price." All rabbits
are spayed or neutered and litter box trained.
Adoption fees for cats and kittens are waived, yes FREE! Licensing and vaccination fees may apply. All cats and kittens are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and treated for parasites. Cats have also been given distemper vaccinations. Adopters need to fill out an adoption application to be approved by OAHS adoption specialists. Donations to help more cats is kittens are always appreciated.
Adoption fees for dogs range between $35 - $200. All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and are heatworm tested. Dogs are also given distemper vaccinations, innoculated against kennel cough and treated for parasites. It is possible not all dogs will have received a rabies vaccination prior to adoption. Reimbursement for rabies vaccination is due at the time of adoption and is in addition to the adoption fee for the dog. All puppies are required to attend obedience classes at the adopters expense and classes must be prepaid prior to adoption. A list of area classes are available at OAHS.
Adoption fees for small mammals (rabbits, Guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters etc.) are "Name your own Price". After all, how do you put a price on love? Donations appreciated. Some small mammals may even come with their own habitat.
