Welcome,
Thank you for your interest in the Oshkosh Area Humane Society and our volunteer program. Volunteering at OAHS is a rewarding experience that benefits the animals, the community and you!
There are lots of ways that you can make a difference at OAHS. Whether you are interested in volunteering hands-on with the animals here at the shelter, our Pet Therapy program, or working with the public in our Outreach program, the first step in becoming a volunteer is to attend an orientation. Additional training for either cats or dogs is required to work hands-on with the animals. Orientation and behavior classes are listed below.

Requirements to volunteer at the shelter are as follows: to be 16 years of age, be able to commit to 6 hours of service per month for a 6-month commitment to the shelter, and be able to work independently.
Volunteer applications will be filled out at orientation so there is no need to register, but please call to confirm that orientation/class has not been cancelled or rescheduled if weather is inclement..
